elephant rock beach & climb

Only a 15-minute tuk-tuk ride from Arugam Bay, Elephant Rock is a massive natural rock formation rising around 320 meters high, set between the ocean and a lagoon. The easy 10–15 minute climb leads to wide open views and one of the area’s most beautiful sunset lookouts. Below, the surrounding beach is a calm, open stretch — perfect for relaxing, swimming, or simply unwinding before or after the climb. We recommend arriving before sunset, bringing water, and heading down before dark.

Pottuvil Lagoon Safari

Only a 15 minute tuk tug drive, A peaceful two-hour journey through Pottuvil Lagoon on a traditional raft, gently paddled by local guides so you can fully relax and take in the surroundings. The experience includes a short stop at Pottuvil Point beach before heading back. Moving slowly through the lagoon offers a quiet way to enjoy the natural scenery and changing light from the water. We recommend coming in the afternoon, bringing water, and timing the experience with sunset.
